Outdoor kitchen using Kaboodle cabinetry

Kaboodle cabinets, benchtop tiles and timber acoustic panels were utilised for a bespoke covered outdoor kitchen featuring a barbecue and fridge.

The project

We transformed an empty outdoor space into a stunning D.I.Y. alfresco kitchen using Bunnings Kaboodle cabinetry and timber-look wall panels. The design includes a built-in bar fridge, sleek D.I.Y. tiled benchtop, and stainless steel BBQ - perfect for entertaining. Warm feature lighting and vertical timber slats create a modern, cozy atmosphere. This project was a hands-on challenge but incredibly rewarding — we now have the ultimate outdoor area to relax with family and friends, thanks to Bunnings!

Steps

Step 1

Build wall frame.

Step 2

Add wall wrap.

Step 3

Colorbond sheeting.

Step 4

Run electrical wiring before cement sheeting the wall.

Step 5

Attach Prempanel.

Step 6

Build Kaboodle cabinets and attach to wall.

Step 7

Glue and screw two marine Ply panels together to make benchtop. This was then then tiled and grouted.

Step 8

Electrical fit off done by electrician.

Step 9

Mounted TV on wall.

Tools and materials

• Walnut timber acoustic panel
• Travertine ivory porcelain floor and wall tiles
• Stainless steel bar fridge
• Slimline wall light.

• Step ladder.

Good morning @meganp83 

You have created a nice sheltered space for sure 🙂 

When I was going through your descriptin I had presumed the bench was a stone of some kind. But you said "Glue and screw two marine Ply panels together to make benchtop. This was then then tiled and grouted." Is there any chance you could show us a better shot of the bench top as it looks good 🙂 Something definently worth filing away for future use.
