How to fix architrave off due to heavy roller blind?

Hi All,

we have corner less sliding door with one side 2700 wide and 2400 height each. Roller blind has been installed and due to heavy weight of roller, architrave comes off.
could anyone please suggest to fix this issue ?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your architrave.

In order to repair your architrave, I suggest you uninstall your roller blinds along with its metal holding clips. It is possible that in that corner of that wall is a timber support piece. I propose putting adhesive such as Selleys 350g Heavy Duty Liquid Nails behind the gap of the architrave. I then suggest screwing the architrave into the corner using Zenith 10G x 100mm Countersunk Rib Head External Timber Screws - 8 Pack, please make sure to drill pilot holes all the way in to prevent splitting the architrave and snapping the crew heads.

Let the adhesive behind the architrave cure overnight and once the architrave is secure you can then re-install the roller blinds.

To add to @EricL's suggestions, I would also go along the whole length of the timber and screw the architrave to the studs in the wall. The point could be weaker because its on a reverese corner and you have a lot of screws going into the same area carrying the load.

The issue is that the screws used on the brackets are not long enough. In that corner of the wall under the paint will be a thin aluminium trim, then plasterboard then timber stud framing.

I would remove the screws, then use 45mm brads to re-secure the architrave. use a silicone gap filler along the top and a timber filler on the corner join. Then repaint.

Use 60mm wood screws to re-secure the brackets deep into the corner stud timbers. Pilot hole the architrave first and in through the aluminium frame only. Use the same hole locations with the old screws is fine.
