Microwave touchup paint Black- What to use
Hello @Kintiq
I'm sorry the store currently does not have black appliance touch up paint pens. However, as an alternative I propose looking at using Dulux 100ml Natural White Sample Pot and having it tinted to black. I suggest using a cotton bud to apply the paint on the surface of the appliance if it is a scratch or chip. Please note that it will not be as robust as appliance paint, but it will cover the damage effectively. Should the touch up eventually fade or come off you can touch it up again with the remaining paint that you have.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
Eric
Hi Erick
Thanks for the kind & quick response. it is unfortunate as we don’t have many competitors to Bunnings we are at loss if Bunnings failed to carry appliance pairs major ranges.
I wonder if tinted paint will be as suitable as Appliance paint to resist MW high temp? Could you please suggest any other appliance paints available at Amazon or eBay
Thanks
Hi @Kintiq,
Could you please tell us a bit more about where you'll be using this paint and the damage you're trying to repair? If this is inside the microwave, I am not aware of any paint that could be used, as I'm only familiar with Bunnings products.
Mitchell
Thanks - it is inside the door as the paint was damaged in an accidental operations by kid without anything inside and was overheated & pulverised.
My apologies for not including that information about the paint. My suggestion can only be used for the outside surface of the microwave. For the inside surface of the microwave, I suggest calling the manufacturer of your unit as the paint inside the microwave is special and is food safe. It's made to withstand the microwaves being generated inside the unit and does not release toxic substances when heated up. Please do not use ordinary or touch up paints inside your microwave.
Try Supercheap Auto or Autobarn.
Take the microwave with you and ask for someone to come out with you for a look.
Cheers
Hi Eric
what about Selleys Appliance paint it shows a MW & stated that it is good for MW
I have also seen some MW paints on Amazon
Are you referring to this white touch-up paint? If so, it is heat-resistant up to 200 degrees Celsius.
Hi Mitch
perhaps no , seen some Microwave Cavity paint on for high temp as may be similar to this attached photo - please advise
I've confirmed with a few of our suppliers that we do not have any suitable paint for the interior of a microwave. Our high-temp paints are suitable for the exterior of items but not within the heating chamber. Inside a microwave, there is a lot happening, and the paint could break down over time, off-gas and contaminate food.
