How to install outdoor hot cold shower plumbing?

Hi all,

I am thinking to add a outdoor hot and cold shower to back of my garage.

 

Purpose is to rinse after pool so no shampoo or soap. But i guess we still have to comply as it has hot water.

 

The roof is about 900mm out from wall, and the pavers are about 900mm long. I know the with hot and cold shower, it has to be connected to sewer, which i have one nearby to do it. My question is wouldn't it makes the stormwater comes into sewer as well? How to prevent this? My options are

1. add 900mm linear grate outside of the pavers(easier to install as the paver sloped to outside but might not be compliant as exposed to weather).

2. Linear grate beside the 900mm paver (maybe compliant as it is less exposed.).

3. Cold shower only with or without 900mm linear grate connected to storm water. Hot water to be disconnected by ballvalve.

Since this involves hot water and a sewer connection, it falls into regulated plumbing work, so we can’t advise on the compliance side. A licensed plumber is the correct person to speak with, especially one who has installed outdoor showers before, because they can confirm what is required for both the water supply and the drainage, so you avoid stormwater entering the sewer. They will also be needed for any hot and cold hard-line connections.

However, Bunnings does have a How to install a DIY outdoor shower guide, and in that example, the shower connects directly to an exterior garden tap rather than the home’s fixed plumbing. A cold-water-only setup like that generally doesn’t require a sewer connection because it functions as an outdoor rinse point. Once you add hot water, the installation usually shifts into the category where compliance applies, which is why speaking to a plumber is the right next step.
