The rusting balcony deck edge needs repair. Smooth corrugated metal surface with no patterns or embossments, so it might be a non-composite deck. How bad is this for the structural integrity of the decking? How to repair it?

In this particular instance, I suggest engaging the services of a structural engineer as this needs a professional eye to assess it correctly. It appears that the rust has eaten through some of the steel support and is no longer just surface rust. I'm sorry I can't provide you with a more positive assessment. But in the interest of health and safety its best to get a professional opinion.
