How to fix shower cubicle reservoir?

Hi all

I’ve just had a new bathroom installed, and I’ve found that the shower cubicle has this bit at the bottom just outside the door that catches water and has no way of draining. So it just builds up until I manually soak it up with a cloth. Is this a design flaw or an installation problem?

I was under the impression that there would be a drain channel somewhere along that aluminium bar. This would technically prevent water from being kept inside that channel. I propose calling the installer back in and telling them what is happening and that the water will become an inconvenience if it does not drain away properly. I suspect that the drain channel might have been accidentally sealed with silicone, it would be best to have the installer check it out.
