Need ideas for budget kitchen renovation

Looking at a cheap kitchen renovation. Been priced for a glass splash back or wondering if I get new tiles and place them myself? The kitchen cabinetry I could replace but been quoted $1000+ just for 4 draws and 4 cupboards. Can I paint this cabinetry? Or will that ruin it?

any advice or tips welcome!!

A tiled splashback is definitely a very achievable D.I.Y. project that I would encourage you to take on. Painting existing cabinetry is also something a lot of renovators do when the structure is still solid, which will give your kitchen a fresh new look without having to replace it.
