There is a seller on Bunnings Marketplace who has spare filters like this Blanco Rangehood Rangehood Filter and Spring GF07AA. Considering the plans for renovations in the near future, if we can identify the model of your rangehood, it might be easiest to just replace the filter.

If you'd prefer to replace the whole rangehood, we will need to know the depth as well as the dimensions you've provided, as the doors of the cabinet limit the size of the space. Assuming there is enough depth, something like this Bellini 60cm Slide Out Rangehood White Finish with S/S Fascia seems like it would work.

Unfortunately, I couldn't locate a replacement filter for your model of rangehood.

If you're happy to replace it, then you could certainly do so. I've just noticed that your rangehood is a recirculating style rangehood, so you would need to use something like this Bellini 60cm Recirculating Slide Out Rangehood White Finish With Stainless Steel Fascia instead.

The rangehood you've shown there would be similar. Most 60cm slideout rangehoods should suit your space.

Does the new one looks like having the carbon filter ? What are those plastic part ? just the motor or they actually are carbon filter on them ?

Also, I believe this hole on the wall is serving only for the power cable, but not to extract the smoke, isn't that right ?

Actually, the power cable is not coming out or in from this hole, but a switch just sits above the hole, So I guess, this hole is serving something.

It is certainly very similar to what you had before, and in fact the new unit is likely an improvement on the old one. The filter supplied with the new Esatto rangehood is designed to capture grease and oils effectively and is the current standard for recirculating undermount rangehoods. The black section you are seeing on the new unit is just the blower motor, not a carbon filter.

From what I can see of your old rangehood, there is nothing that clearly indicates it had a separate carbon filter installed. In some older units, there can be a thin carbon layer integrated into the mesh filters, but it is not always present. The new rangehood you have purchased is suitable for recirculating use as supplied, and you do not need to add a carbon filter unless the manufacturer specifically lists it as an optional accessory for odour control.

Yes, your new rangehood can be used in recirculating mode without adding any extra parts. As for the hole in the wall, it does not appear to be for ducting, especially since there is no evidence of an exhaust path. It was most likely created to allow wiring to pass through the wall to a nearby outlet or switch. If your old unit plugged into a socket behind or above the rangehood, the new one will simply use that same power point.

It looks not in a perfct way. I had to made a big hole on the top shelf as the new rangehood had bigger exhaust and circular too. The cut is not perfect ( I know). Installing was really hard ( harder than I thought). The old style rangehood would have been much easier to install. Also, I did not really care about the shape of the cut, because 1.) We hardly open the shelf and nobody will see that. 2.) I will have kitchen renovation in future.

Also, there are three sharp tips of the screws and I am going to cover them with masking tap.

I had to install something to fill the gap. I used leftover from VJ panelling as the screw wouldn't reach all the way to the wall. In previous undermount rangehood, they had a metal pieace installed at the back of the rangehood to fill the gap, which did not really worked for this case. I only installed on the right side because, I was not able to use any hole to screw through the top shelf.

The final installation.

If you see it carefully, this new rangehood is sitting a little bit lower than the bottom line (indicated in blue lines). I could have got the shelf (where the screws are) a little up, but it was working perfectly fine and my wife was happy with that. If I had decided to shift the shelf a little higher, it would have taken me another day ( consider my other work is busy).

But, it is serving the purpose and I did not add any extra bit.
