How to attach 2 way tap and hose to garden tap with no thread?

Hi,

I am very much a novice when it comes to diy so please be patient!

I want to attach a hose to my garden tap and use a two way tap splitter to ensure I can still use the tap alone.
I bought the Pope 2 way brass threaded tap and a retractable hose but have now realised my garden tap has no thread!

What do I need to buy to make this work? All help appreciated!

Hi @Lou_L,

Simply replace with a garden tap that has the threaded outlet.

For you or someone with DIY skills turn off the water mains.

Unscrew the tap and take to Bunnings and they will help select the right replacement.

If you don't have any PTFE/Thread tape get some while you are there.

As @AlanM52 mentioned, the solution is to replace the tap with a threaded garden tap.

It is a relatively simple process, but it is technically considered plumbing work and would require the assistance of a plumber. If you'd like, you could use our Garden Tap Installation service to have the tap swapped to one with a thread.

Hi @Lou_L,

Unfortunately, no.

Every 2-way tap or diverter that I am aware of needs a thread to attach to, and there's no way to retrofit a thread on your tap, which means you're going to have to replace the tap.
