How to remove Sikaflex 11 FC from sandstone tiles?

Hi,
I managed to drop some Sikaflex 11 FC on some outdoor sandstone tiles, and I'm looking for a way to safely remove it without damaging the tiles.
I tried to remove it with a plastic scraper but (probably as expected) it didn't work.

Can someone please provide some recommendations for the lowest-risk ways to remove it without causing damage?

I'm sorry to hear that you've had a bit of a mishap with the Sikaflex. I suggest trying out a Trojan Safety Scraper With 5 Blades on the surface. Because the Sikaflex has already cured, I propose scrapping it off the surface with the sharp scraper. For stubborn spots you can try using Josco 3 Piece Hand Wire Brush Kit. Please note that excessive use and too much force can scratch the surface of the sandstone surface. I don't recommend using chemical cleaners as this might just melt and spread the Sikaflex even further.

Personally I would avoid using any metal object as it has the potential for leaving a permanent mark. So, I would use turps and a small stiff plastic bristle scrub brush.

I would probarlly head towards a wire brush, take it easy and keep an eye out for any damage that is being caused by the scrub of the brush.

I just read that WD-40 can help remove stubborn bits but have no experience with using it so cant really say it will 🙂

Hello @PhilM1

I was thinking about that product but was worried that it might stain your sandstone surface. If you do decide to use it, I propose testing a small area first to make sure that it does not imbed itself onto the surface of your tile. Please note that the Sika 208 is a special-order product and is not regularly stocked at the store.
