How to build raised garden beds on sloped block?

Hey everyone, 

I am wanting to put raised wooden sleeper garden beds in where the red lines are. My question is given the slope etc would this then be a retaining and if so how do i navigate this? Anything in particular I need to do or just build the raised garden beds as I would normally? In 

I know there is something about not using the fence as the back of the retaining wall so am just wanting to make sure. In my head I can use the back of the side fence (block work) as the back of my raised garden bed and also at the back as on my side of the yard it would back onto the concrete footings of the fence. 

I am sure it is not as simplistic as this so please let me know. In my head I would be able to do 1 big raised garden bed in an L shape. I am a high school teacher so have the next few weeks off and was wanting to get stuck into this before holidays are over.

Thanks for sharing your question about building a raised garden bed. I suggest building the garden bed in a terrace fashion so that bed follows the contour of the land and you will avoid having to dig and change the elevation of the land. However, I recommend building the garden beds as a single standing structure and not leaning it on any wall or existing structure. I suggest building it at least half a meter away from any wall so that you have access to the back of the garden bed.
