How to attach hose timer?

Hi All,

hoping this is a pretty easy one to answer, but I have recently bought a hose timer for my garden but it connects to a Water Inlet with a 3/4 "internal thread while my tap is larger.
I have been looking at adaptors but all of them seem to convert from 3/4 to 1 inch rather than the other way around. Any suggestions on how to make this work?

That is truly a bit of a mystery why the 3/4 piece will not work on your garden tap. If your garden tap outlet is bigger it's possible that you have either a 25mm or 30mm classical head. Can I please request for one more photo and that is for you to place the timer's top section in-line with the garden tap threads. This will verify that the garden tap you have is of the larger classical variety. A quick way to solve this is to replace your garden tap with a new garden tap that has a 20mm outlet. It will be much easier to replace the tap rather than attaching more plumbing pieces to the end of it.

Just to be on the safe side, I propose bringing your tap timer to the store and going to the plumbing section where the garden taps are. Test your timers fitting on the standard 20mm garden fittings and see if they fit one another. If the screw threads of the timer are not screwing properly to the tap outlet odds are you have an imperial threaded unit, and you'll need to exchange it for a metric set. As an alternative, I propose looking at the Nylex Digital Tap Timer.

I also recommend checking out the store's Garden Tap Installation Service, especially if you are looking for a professional to install your garden tap.
