How to hang picture frames on brick textured walls?

Hi 

I bought an apartment it's a brick apartment and I want to hang some frames. I used Velcro and other 3M tapes and they continue to fall due to the wall being textured. Now I want to use some type of screw hook, however I am worried with it being the wall to the bathroom I may hit pipes. Behind this wall is just the sink. The hot water shut is located near the front door which is behind the toilet. So I am worried that the hot water line may run there.

In the photos you can see where the frames are currently and that exactly where I want to put them.

Is there any type of scanner I can use to find pipes/wires behind this wall. Or if anyone can recommend a strong tape even permanent ones that will hold the frames up.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your hanging frames.

One of the most versatile and affordable stud finders the store carries is the Bosch Professional 120mm Cordless Detector IP54 w/marking hole. It can detect magnetic metal, non-magnetic metal, live cable and non-metal materials. But if you are after stronger adhesives, I recommend looking at the Scotch-Mount 2.54 x 7.62 cm Extreme Double-Sided Mounting Strips or the Scotch™ 2.54 x 152.4cm Clear Mount Double-Sided Mounting Tape - 2.54cm x 1.52m. My best advice is to wipe the surface of your wall with DIGGERS 125ml Isopropyl Alcohol - 125ml and a paper towel to remove any oil, grease and dirt deposit that may have come in contact with your wall. Make sure to follow the mounting instructions and waiting time before using the tape.

My only other suggestion is to use Selleys 130g Liquid Nails Fast Grab Strong Adhesive. If you are going to use this on the back of a plastic hook, make sure to support the hook with masking tape so that it does not move while the adhesive cures. Please note that this is a permanent fix and if you wish to remove the plastic hook it will take the paint off the wall with it.
