How to connect downpipe to water tank?

Hello,

We're trying to connect our new (to us) watertank up, but have hit a snag. Where we would connect the storm water pipe and pipe from the overflow already has an adaptor. Is there any way to neatly connect them? Its a standard 100×50x90mm PVC adaptor. We floated the idea of cutting the adaptor off, but the cement comes up quite high and don't think we'd have enough vertical room to get another adaptor on after its cut.

Thank you for sharing your question about connecting your water tank to your existing down pipe. It's possible that the plumber would attach a Holman 100 x 80 x 90mm PVC Stormwater Downpipe Adaptor to the galvanized rectangular downpipe and convert it all to 90mm round PVC fittings which would ease conversion. In theory once it has been turned into round PVC fittings a Holman 90mm 90° Female And Female PVC Stormwater Junction would be attached to the round downpipe and a Holman 90mm 90° Female And Female PVC Stormwater Elbow linked to the junction using a bit of 90mm pipe.

When you get to the bottom, the rectangular section of the bottom pipe receiver can be in theory cut down and a Holman Storm PVC Slab Adaptor 90mm attached to the top of it allowing you to connect the 90mm pipe straight through.
