Tuscan Path 15kg 30-50mm White Pebbles. How many bags will I need for a 4 metre diameter circle?
Hi @gardenspecial,
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.
I'd suggest using the Tuscan Path Pebbles Calculator for this calculation.
You can select the option to calculate by area. For a circle with a 4m diameter, the area is approximately 12.57 m².
If you plug this into the calculator, at a depth of 60mm, which is fairly common, it says you would need 88 bags.
Let me know what you think and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Hi guys, hope you can help. I want to dress up my front and back yards with white pebbles. how do i work out how many kgs of pebbles I need?
Hi @miraperry,
The easiest way to work it out is to calculate the area you want to cover, then decide on the depth of the pebbles.
Once you know the volume, check the coverage information on the pebble product you're considering, as different pebble sizes and types have different coverage rates. Most product pages will state approximately how many square metres a bag will cover at a nominated depth.
From experience, a 20kg bag of stone's volume is usually about 0.01 cubic metres. So, if you needed, for example 1.3 cubic metres, it would be approximately 130 bags.
If you can give us a rough idea of the dimensions, as well as the product you have been looking at, I could certainly help you with a rough estimate of how many bags you'd require.
Thankyou Jacob
Front yards is 3 x 3 mtrs
Back in sections - 1450x 4750, 4870x2430, 2950x3680
Product is the white pebbles 40-50 in size from bunnings
So, your front yard is 9 square metres, and the back sections are roughly 30 square metres combined. Combined, this comes out to 39 square metres of area.
Plugging the figure of 39 square metres into the https://tuscanpath.com.au/pages/pebbles-calculator? , and using the https://www.bunnings.com.au/tuscan-path-30-50mm-15kg-white-pebbles_p3460154 as the material, at a depth of 50mm, you would need approximately 273 bags.
This is obviously quite a lot, and purchasing in individual bags can bring the price up a bit. For this reason, you may want to speak with the Special Orders desk at your local store to see what if there are options for bulk materials in your area. Oftentimes, there are bulk options, however it comes down to what suppliers are in your area and what products are available.
If you'd like to order in bulk, it is usually done by volume. Your 39 square metres at a depth of 50mm would equate to 1.95 cubic metres.
