How to use clear sealant on a stencilcrete verandah?

No pictures. I used a clear sealant bought at Bunnings. That's not the problem to seal my stencil crete verandah, should not have been a big job but there are sections that are showing whiteish patches. The application was a pain too. I had to hold the roller at an angle to release too much product before hitting flooring. Any suggestions??

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is wonderful to have you with us.

It would be extremely difficult to diagnose the issue and recommend a solution without some further information and some photos of the white patches you are referring to. Is that them in the first image? Or is that from before you applied it?

Can you advise which specific sealer you used for your concrete?

Also, what preparation steps did you take prior to application?

Are the white patches cloudy and seem to be in the sealer? Or are they more defined and seem like they are on the concrete?

We'll need to do some further investigation to see what has happened and what can be done.

If you can answer the questions above, that would be a great help.

Thank you for getting back to me. I did a second coat of sealant on my verandah today and even though it hasn't dried completely it's looking a lot better. But tomorrow morning will tell. I used Crommellen Sealant. I found it very messy.

I have another problem though?

The edging is a different colour and several areas have faded so much that it has changed from it's original colour to almost white. I bought a litre can of White Knight paint and it says on the tin to dilute it with 20% of water per 1L of paint. Should I do this as a first coat?

Could you please link us to the White Knight product you intend to use? That way, we can check out the instructions. Also, could you let us know what this edging is? Is it tile?

Dear Joe and who ever else answered,.

I decided to get a handy man in to do the job for me and he ended up underestimating how much sealant was left. So I went to Bunnings and bought another can but I don't think I'm up to tackling it again as it was in the middle of the heat wave and so now I have a full can unopened. I may wait till the Autumn to re do my driveway?

The edging was done twice over as the colour I chose was not the colour in the brochure? So more re-taping of edges has done me in for the next ten years. So I appreciate every one's concern but I finally got it all done, car out of garage in all that stinking heat for 6 days. It's a big job for a female 71 to do on her own.
