How to fix gap behind kitchen sink?

Behind the kitchen sink, there is a visible gap between the benchtop and the wall upto cabinet backing.
This gap collects water, dirt, and is difficult to clean.
I would like to seal or cover this gap to improve the situation, prevent moisture damage, and give a cleaner finish to the kitchen area.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your kitchen sink.

It appears that the silicone sealer was applied too deeply and only in between the benchtop and the wall. Ideally the silicone seal should have been a bit wider and provided a larger seal. I propose cleaning the silicone you currently have with water and detergent. Remove all dust and debris on its surface and covering it with a larger silicone bead.

It is possible to remove the current silicone seal, but it appears to be in good condition, and its small profile will not have a big impact on the new bead you'll be placing on top.
