How to care for Mimosa Santo outdoor timber table?

I have just purchased the Mimosa Santo Timber Dining Table for my outdoor area, but unfortunately, I have misplaced the care instructions that came in the box.

How should I care for this table to protect it? Do I need to oil or varnish it before I start using it?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.

The Mimosa range comes prefinished, which means there is no need to apply any additional oils or varnishes to the table before putting it to use.

General care of the table is much the same as with any other table. You should try to limit water or other liquids sitting on it where possible, and give it a clean every now and then with warm, soapy water or a timber-specific cleaner such as Cabot's Wood Surface Cleaner.

Longer term, the sun will slowly affect the finish, at which point you should give it a light sand and apply an exterior oil such as Feast Watson Clear Outdoor Furniture Oil or Gilly's Outdoor Furniture Alfresco Timber Oil to help restore the finish and protect the table. Depending on where the table is situated, you may need to do this every 12-18 months or so. Once water stops beading off the surface and begins soaking in, this is usually an indication that it is time to recoat the timber.
