Can the EzyStorage Förma pull-out drawers be side-mounted?

Hi all,

I'm looking to retrofit some drawers in my pantry, and these EzyStorage drawers are the perfect size. However, three of the drawers would need to be side-mounted to work they way I'm envisioning. Can this be done with these drawers, or should I look elsewhere?

I'm sorry, but I'm just having a bit of trouble imagining the drawer's position when you say side mounted. In order to give us a better idea of its position, would it be possible for you to post a photo of the pantry? Generally speaking, the drawer needs side supports in order for it to be installed properly. If there are side panels in the location you mentioned then it might work, but if a panel has to be installed, we'll have to see the inside of the pantry in order to make a recommendation.

Thanks @EricL, this is the space. I'd ideally like to fit two or three drawers between the shelves, so I'm wondering if the tracks can be screwed into the sides of the pantry.

Thank you for sharing that photo of your pantry. I propose taking measurements of the depth and width of the interior of the pantry. According to the information on the website the width of the drawer is 52.8mm and the depth is 51.7mm. If the space in your pantry is greater than the measurements of the drawer then it will fit. Generally speaking, it might be necessary to add timber inserts in order for the drawer to fit in snugly.

Thanks @EricL. I'm more so asking whether the hardware on these particular shelves allow for side-mounting, as shown in the diagram below. It's unclear from the website listing whether there are screw holes in the sides of the tracks or whether they can only be screwed down into a shelf. Does that make sense?

On closer inspection I now understand what you are asking about. It can be installed even if the drawer fixings are for the bottom only. The work around is to install timber strips on the side of the pantry and you then screw the drawer runners on top of the timber strips. I propose looking at using Porta 42 x 42mm 2.4m DAR Square General Purpose Pine as the timber strip mount.
