How do I insert a flyscreen back to my window frame?

Hi,
I accidentally pulled out a flyscreen from my bathroom window and now I'm struggling to put it back. It was so easy to pull it out but I have no clue how to insert it back. There is a vertical metal bar in the middle of the window frame that prevents me from inserting the flyscreen in place. I tool a few photos, including one close up of the frame (the one with a visible screw) + photos of an identical window.
PS I did tried to unscrew the vertical metal bar but just could not take it out (it is either stuck in place or I need to do something more)

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.

The flyscreen frame shouldn't be so wide that it comes in contact with the sides of the window frame. Is it possible that you just need to rotate it 90 degrees for it to fit between the left and right uprights?

Generally, flyscreens are inserted into the top pocket in the aluminium frame at an angle, then lifted up into it so the bottom edge can be rotated into the frame, then dropped down into the channel at the bottom. There shouldn't be any reason to remove any screws for this to happen.

Is there any reason that this isn't possible?

Hi @alexp,

That is a nicely composed guide by @JacobZ of how the flyscreen is maneuvered and what to look for.

The flyscreen should be fitted with a lift tab that may have become fatigued and broken off due to the weather.

Inspect both sides top and bottom in the middle for signs of a plastic edge and let us know what you find - if anything.

We have exactly that type of flyscreen on the inside and the they all have pull tabs.
