How to design new kitchen with Kaboodle?

Hello all,

I have this home and intend to renovate the kitchen. I would like the kitchen to include a dishwasher, 60cm cooktop, a pantry and a 60cm under bench oven. I would also need 800cm minimum for a fridge space. Its so pokey. Ideally the sink will remain under the window.

I love hazelnut bencktops and white gloss cabinet with black accents. Would also love hazelnut added in a few other spaces too.

Thanks in advance, it has driven me mad trying to work it out.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.

I'd suggest you head into your local store and have a chat with their Kitchen Expert about our Kitchen Consultation Service. The service costs $49 and includes a 1.5-2 hour consultation that will result in a 3D render of your kitchen alongside a list of products you will need to make it a reality. The $49 is also redeemable if you purchase your kitchen from Bunnings.

Our team use the Kaboodle 3D kitchen design planner for their design work, so you could certainly have a play around with it yourself and see what you like. Just set out the dimensions of your kitchen, select your appliances and then your cabinets, benchtops and accessories.

There are a variety of cabinets that come in gloss white, and plenty of options to include hazelnut and black accents. During your consult, mention that these are the themes you are after and the team will be happy to help you select options to suit.

I've taken the liberty of preparing a plan for you. I've included some rendering below and a product list. I kept all the wall cabinetry, fridge and pantry on one side as it gets significantly narrower if we spread them out on both walls.

I hope that assists.

Just to add to the suggestions made, I've included the other side of your kitchen with wall cabinets and a custom-made microwave cabinet. It will need to be built from the same timber as your benchtop. You'll need to speak to your installer regarding the cabinet. It's close to my teammates design except that I've given you two six hundred drawer cabinets and a standard end cabinet for other items. I've used a smaller 450 pantry to provide more space for your cooktop.

I wonder whether I should move the Oven to the other side so that it is not on the same side as the fridge?

Hello @Nikki..

That is definitely an option open to you as there is a power point on the other side that your sparky can connect to. It would open up a host of options for you such as having an oven tower on the other side where the pantry is. It would generally give you more drawer space under the cooktop, your oven being higher would save you from having to bend down all the time and the microwave can be situated above it. The trade-off would be that it would eat into the benchtop space on the other side.

However, having the cooktop on the other side would give you more space and you don't feel trapped in with walls or cabinets on the side.

@EricL i think I have everything worked out except the end panels. I am a bit confused where they go.

Here is what I have left to right:

Base - benchtop end / 450 drawer 3 / 300 base with pull out bin /base end panel/ dishwasher / base end panel / 900 corner opening from back wall/ 600 double door sink/ 900 corner opening from back wall/ 600 oven/300 base / 450 pantry/800 with fridge underneath/ I don’t know how to end it

Wall on left- custom two shelves in the hazelnut 788 (ithink) for microwave/600 wall/ 300 wall/600 wall do I need an end panel here against the wall

Wall on right - two hazelnut v shelves 600 ish /300 deep wall/600 deep wall/300 deep wall/450 pantry as per base (do I need a pantry end panel here?)

I am going insane with this 🤔

Hello @Nikki..

Let me try and help you with the cabinet run. The 600-oven base cabinet will need end panels at its side. If you are putting in a fridge cabinet at the top you will need a pantry end panel to finish it.

Yes, you will need a panel against the wall to allow the wall cabinet door to open neatly without it scraping the wall.

Yes, you will need a pantry end panel on both sides of the pantry.

Take your time don't rush.

My best advice is to assemble the cabinets and line them up on the wall without installing them. In this manner you will be able to see cabinet run and will be able to tell if anything is missing.
