Would like to lower the shower hob from 25cms high to 10 cms? Is that possible to do? and what is the reflux valve?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @pgwin888. It's sensational to have you join us and many thanks for your question on shower hobs.
It’s likely possible to lower a shower hob, but whether it can be done safely really depends on how the existing waterproofing has been installed.
When you cut down or rebuild a hob, you risk damaging the waterproof membrane that runs under and up the sides of the shower enclosure. A licensed waterproofer or bathroom renovator would need to look at it on-site to confirm whether the hob can be reduced while still maintaining a compliant, continuous membrane. In many cases, it can be done, but it usually means re-waterproofing that section of the shower.
As for the “reflux valve”: I’m not entirely sure what you’re referring to in this context. If you could provide a bit more context that would assist me in answering your question.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
