How to fix leaking shed?

First time building a shed. Tested with water and notice water leaking down between roof sheets and the roof trims. Is this normal?

What suggestions to fix this or make the water flow maybe to the ends?

Also found another water issue. The water flows down the door jamb where the bottom end sits inside of the shed. Not sure why its designed like that but im sure I have installed it correctly. What should i do to fix? Just pack it up with silicone?

Also had third problem which not sure have any one experienced. Which I have researched and know a fix for. Thought I shall share incase other people in same boat.

Water can also overflow in the U cannels at the bottom of shed so you need to also pack it with roof gutter silicone. Can be done internally and externally or both.https://youtube.com/shorts/ReTmQe82qDw?si=jLvRTvG9BdkM2chr

From your photos, it looks as though the roof sheets have very little overhang at the front, which is the lower edge of the shed roof. Normally, shed roofing sheets extend far enough past the front wall to allow water to run off cleanly rather than tracking back toward the wall and door opening. With only a minimal overhang, water can run down the front face of the shed and find its way into the door area, which appears to be what you are seeing. Could you let us know whether this shed was purchased from Bunnings and, if so, the brand and model? That would allow us to reach out to the manufacturer to check whether what you are seeing is typical and to confirm that the roof sheets and trims are installed correctly.

Since most small garden sheds do not come with guttering, it is normal for water to drain directly off the ends of the sheets without being captured. There are no standard mini‑guttering systems designed for these types of sheds, so if you want to control the water flow more precisely, you may need to look at having some custom flashing fabricated to catch and redirect the runoff.

Using silicone could help minimise water ingress, but the first step is to ensure those roof sheets are positioned correctly. Can you tell whether water is entering the internal side at the top of the front wall or perhaps lower down?

With regard to @MitchellMc's comments about overhang and water drain-off could we please have photos of the roof and from the right side from further back to gauge the fall of the roof.

@MitchellMC - the roof has little over hang. Its not a bunnings one. Its Spanbilt's YardStore F83 shed. Its also flat room.…its design isnt that great but suits my size.

@AlanM52 - Here is the roof from looking underneath.

Its not overflowing. Its leaking through from the gaps where the roof trim meets the end of colourbond sheets. There are small gaps all over the front. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the extra photos, that helps a lot.

Looking at the structure, you’ve actually got around 10cm of roof overhang, which is more than I expected from your original description and is pretty typical for sheds of this style. With that setup, all the water should be shedding off the roof well in front of the wall, and that’s exactly how most prefabricated sheds are designed.

That said, minor water penetration around doors is quite common, especially on flat‑roof sheds or models with lighter trims like the YardStore range. The small gaps where the roof trim meets the end of the Colorbond sheets aren’t unusual, but they can allow wind‑driven rain to sneak through.

You could try a couple of things to reduce the issue:

Door seals / foam tape: Sometimes adding adhesive weatherstrip or door‑frame seals can reduce wind‑blown drips.
Check for aftermarket accessories: It may be worth reaching out to the supplier or manufacturer directly. They may have optional flashing kits or sealing accessories designed for this model.
Silicone sparingly (if appropriate): A small bead of exterior‑grade silicone can help in some locations, but avoid sealing areas that need airflow or drainage — sheds must still breathe.

If the shed is otherwise performing well, it might just be a matter of managing those small infiltration points.
