A small piece of tile has come off in our shower wall. How can I repair this without replacing the tile?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @julesp. It's brilliant to have you join us and many thanks for your question about repairing a tile.
There’s nothing here that urgently needs repairing from a functional point of view. The glazed surface of the tile has chipped away and exposed the porous body underneath, but that porosity is very similar to the grout right beside it, so there’s no real concern about water getting in or causing damage. Repairing it is mainly an aesthetic choice. Unfortunately, there aren’t many products designed to perfectly colour‑match tiles in a constantly wet shower environment. One simple option is to use a terracotta‑coloured spray paint, spray a small amount into the can’s lid, and then use a tiny brush to dab the paint onto the chipped section. The colour won’t be a perfect match, nor is the product designed for showers, but it will disguise the cream-coloured chip and make it far less noticeable. You might need to reapply periodically if it wears off.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
