Hi there, in the process of moving this limestone desk, a corner got chipped. I still have a few of the pieces, but not all. I would love some advice on how to repair this - the process, and what material I should use to fill it in and also adhere the existing chips. Thanks!
Hi @sarahloo26,
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.
To glue the chips back in place, you'll want to give the surface a good clean with a brush to remove any loose material, then apply a good amount of Mortafil Pale Limestone Mortar to the damaged area and press the chips back into place. Press it on so that the mortar compresses, then use some painter's tape to hold it in place while the mortar sets.
Once the chips have been glued back in place, you can use the same mortar to build out any other damage or fill any voids, smoothing it out with a lightly dampened sponge then allow it to dry.
With a bit of care in shaping the corners, you should be able to carry out a reasonably good aesthetic repair.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
