What brackets for Bosch rangehood?

Hi,

Unfortunately, I missed place the brackets for the rangehood.

Do you know what brackets to use for this Bosch rangehood?

The hooks stick out 8mm and 23mm width and I am going to mount the rangehood to a rangehood cabinet.

There are amount 10mm - 11mm gap between the rangehood sides to the rangehood cabinets

Also, I talked to the plumber and he recommended to put 2 x 35mm metal screws each side instead of using the brackets. What do you think?

My concern is if I screw them in instead of using the brackets and the rangehood needs to be fixed later, it'll be a nightmare to remove it as the rangehood will be screwed into the rangehood cabinets and the range hood cabinets will be connected to other cabinets on both sides.

The mounting points look like they’re designed to work with a specific bracket system rather than a generic angle bracket. With appliances like rangehoods, the brackets are often proprietary to ensure the unit sits level, carries the weight correctly, and can be removed for servicing if required.

If this is a unit you’ve purchased through us, I’d be more than happy to reach out to Bosch and enquire about replacement brackets for you.

While using metal screws on each side might physically hold the unit in place, it would be safest to stick with the manufacturer’s recommended mounting method. Deviating from the supplied bracket system could make future removal difficult (as you’ve noted), and may also affect serviceability or warranty.

I would err on the side of caution here, as you certainly don't want the rangehood to fall due to incorrect fixings and contact a hot stove.

Thanks @MitchellMc Unfortunately, it's a passed out rangehood from my friend and he lost the receipt.

I contacted Bosch but they asked to provide them the serial number which I am unable to find under the filters.

Is there any way around this?

Hi @Beginner20 ,

Most electrical appliances are required to have a compliance plate fitted to them that lists the model number, serial number and electrical specifications. On rangehoods this is commonly located on the inside body once the filters are removed, but it can also sometimes be on the side panel, top section or rear of the unit. It’s usually a small silver or white sticker/plate.

If you’re unable to locate the serial number, you could try sending Bosch clear photos of the entire unit (front, underside with filters removed, and the top/back if accessible). In many cases they can identify the model visually, which may help them source the correct brackets.

In terms of installation, I’d strongly recommend sticking with the proprietary mounting brackets designed for that specific model. Manufacturers engineer those brackets to support the weight correctly and allow safe removal for servicing. Installing it with alternative fixings may affect safety, serviceability and potentially warranty considerations. I would expect Bosch to advise against installing the unit in any way other than their specified method.

While there may be other ways to physically secure the unit, if you can’t obtain the correct brackets, it may be worth engaging a professional rangehood installer. That way you can have confidence the unit is mounted safely and in line with manufacturer requirements.
