How to replace shower screen over existing tiled raised floor?

I’d like to replace the chrome and glass shower enclosure with a new matte black type. Trying to keep it as simple as possible, ideally I’d like to keep the existing tiled flooring which is raised by around 800mm from the bathroom floor.

Is this possible? And if so, what type of shower screen system would be recommended?

It’s absolutely possible to replace your existing chrome and glass enclosure with a matte black option while keeping the current tiled raised floor.

That said, because your shower area is raised, I’d strongly recommend enlisting a professional installer. The stepped section will need to be properly waterproofed to prevent any future leaks, and ensuring that detail is done correctly is important.

In general, professional installation is a good idea with shower screens anyway. Safety glass is strong, but it can shatter from a relatively light, sharp knock on an edge during handling or installation, so it’s worth reducing that risk.
