I bought this plant many years ago from Bunnings but have lost the tag. I think it is an Agonis, maybe not.

Thanks for sharing the photo. Based on the foliage and overall habit, it could be an Agonis flexuosa, commonly known as Willow Myrtle or Peppermint Tree. This species has narrow, willow-like leaves and often develops a slightly weeping growth habit as it matures, which matches many plants sold through garden centres. When the leaves are crushed, they usually have a mild peppermint scent.
That said, it could possibly be a Callistemon (bottlebrush), as some varieties have similar narrow foliage when not in flower. The easiest way to tell the difference is by the blooms: if it produces the classic cylindrical “bottlebrush” flowers, then it’s a Callistemon. If the flowers are smaller and more clustered along the stems, often white, then Agonis is more likely.
