Could you please provide guidance on how to repair this? Is there a particular adhesive that would be suitable for mending this section of my living room? The wooden component needs to be affixed to the marble, and the floor beneath is sloped.
Hi @waqarrasheed,
Welcome, it's fantastic to see you make your first post.
Typically, a trim like this would be fixed in place using brad nails, however in your situation where the top edge being flush with the top of the marble is the most important factor, this isn't really possible.
So, my suggestion is to use a construction adhesive such as Liquid Nails to attach the trim to the side of the stone. Ensure you put a good solid bead along the full length, press it on and wipe off any adhesive that squeezes out while it is still wet as it will be much harder to remove once dry. You can use a couple of packers to hold up that bottom edge and push something up against the outside edge to hold it in place while the glue goes off.
Once the glue has dried, you can seal that bottom edge with some No More Gaps. Check out How To Silicone a Gap for some guidance on applying caulk and silicone sealants.
Let me know what you think and if you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
