How to build external wall on alfresco for outdoor kitchen?

Question

Hi, I am DIY and was long time planning to enclose one side of my Outdoor Alfresco Room.

and plan to cover one side with timber framed wall as per below.

Accordingly, I have made timber frame as per below.

all the four sides (top/bottom/left & right) are with 90x35 H4 treated pine, stood up the frame and fixed to all sides as below.

Now, I have a doubt about closing the external side of the timber frame.

I am thinking of using blueboard and render it. I am doing this as DIY and this is the 1st time about to render, I am also thinking of using fiber cement sheet and paint with textured point to match with existing EPS cladding rendering as shown in the picture.

Kindly advise which one is best suitable to use to cover this external side of the wall ?.

I have also fixed the timber frame 15mm inside to the level of existing rendered wall above so after installing cement sheet or blueboard with render, the new wall can be to the same level of existing rendered wall above to that.

Hi @Kanagraj,

Here's a step-by-step guide on How to render. In the guide, they depict rendering over bricks, but similar techniques are used on boards. You could consider painting the board, and it would be best to do so with a textured paint such as Dulux 10L Texture Full Cover Exterior Paint. The full cover texture would likely be the closest to the render above, but there is also a medium version, which is not quite as rough.

For a suitable exterior paint, I'd recommend Dulux Weathershield.

Thanks a lot for valuable suggestions. My plan is just to cover only one side of the enclosure. How ever, as suggested, I will approach with council for relevant approval to be safer.

Regarding the external wall cover, if I choose to use blue board, is that fine to use textured paint over that or is it to be rendered? If it is to be painted, kindly suggest a suitable paint that I can get from Bunnings? If it is to be rendered, any video available in the forum from previous threads, so I can get an idea / reference for my work.
