How to paint bathroom tiles and fittings?

Hello,

i am planning to start a minor bathroom face lift renovation and i was hoping to get some advice before starting to ensure i was on the right track. What i plan to do is paint over all tiles and fitting within the bathroom. I have two questions, firstly can i use the rustoleum floor coating on all tiles including the floor, walls and shower area? Secondly i intend to spray paint the fittings including the shower frame, mirror frame, taps etc. with the rustoleum paint and primer. Can i potentially use it on the brown tiles on the floor to keep the same colour or will this need a separate paint? Your help is much appreciated.

I can confirm that the Rust-Oleum Home Floor Kit Semi Gloss can be used on both floor and wall tiles, however as per the limitations listed in the technical data sheet it cannot be used in shower areas.

You can use your spray paint and primer on the metal fixtures, but it can't be used on the floor tiles. If you wanted to have two separate colours, you could always use the kit that you already have, which contains a tinted base coat and a clear coat, as well as a second tinted base coat, for example this Rust-Oleum Home Floor & Tile Paint Matt Greige. You would do the necessary preparation steps, then apply the two different coloured base coats, then paint the clear coat over the top of both.

If you'd like a coating that can be used on your tiles both inside the shower area, as well as outside, then you could use the Dulux Renovations Range floor paints. Check out How to paint your floor tiles | Dulux Renovation Range for some guidance on this process.
