I have a galvanised fence post but I would like to paint it to match my colorbond fence. Can I apply any spray paint directly to it?

New gal posts often have oils from the manufacturing process and older posts have surface contaminants, so give it a thorough clean first, then lightly sand the post to key the surface with 240-grit to remove any remaining contaminants. After sanding, wash it down with clean water and let it dry fully. Once prepped, you can be prime with anĀ SLS Etch primer, which is designed to adhere properly to galvanised steel. After the primer has dried, you can paint with White Knight Epoxy Enamel.
