How to secure Tuscan Path screen panels?

I bought a couple of these screens: Tuscan Path 1800 x 900mm Rust Leaf Screen Panel

I plan to install them secured along the bottom and up one side. Do they need to be secured with a frame around the top and other side, or will what I've got planned be secure enough? I notice that the picture on the product page shows them just secured at the bottom corners and one side, so it seems like it might be enough?

But if they need a frame, what size and type of timber would be sufficient? And what types of timber finish would work well with rusted metal effect of the screens?

Thank you for your question.

The installation method will be dependent on the location, and in particular, the level of exposure to wind. Is it possible to get some information on where you are hoping to install your screens? A couple of photos would also help.

There isn't explicit guidance on how the screens should be installed, so I'll have to reach out to Tuscan Path for guidance when they reopen on Monday.

Ideally, they should be fixed to a rigid structure which is anchored to the ground. They should be fixed on all four sides as this will ensure they do not flex or bend under regular weather conditions, specifically wind.

If they are to be installed in a freestanding fashion, then they would need to be attached to posts in order to anchor them to the ground safely. These posts should run the full height of the panel on each side and there should be connecting rails between them to attach the top and bottom.

If they are installed against a wall or fence, then again, they should be screwed to the structural members, being the studs, or posts and rails, on as many sides as possible.

Conservatively, I can say that they should be anchored to the ground in some way and attached to a structure on all four sides. If this is not feasible in your location, we can certainly look at other options, but ideally, we can come up with a solution to make this possible.

If you can provide some further information on the specific location you are hoping to install them, then I can look into a specific solution and reach out to Tuscan Path for their guidance.

They are to be installed vertically on a veranda either side of a post. They will be bolted to the wooden floor at the bottom, and to the wooden post up one side of each panel. The area is fairly sheltered from the wind.

Tuscan Path have sent through some guidance, which is more or less in line with what is shown in How To Install An Outdoor Screen Panel.

You will need to add a post on either side, then attach the panels to the existing timber post and the two new ones.

In your situation, you obviously can't concrete in your posts, but you can use the framing of your deck to ensure the posts are solidly connected. I'd suggest you use a ProtectorAl 50 x 50 x 1900mm Black Aluminium Pool And Garden Flanged Fence Post on each side. They can be screwed down through the decking boards into the deck frame using 100mm batten screws.

You can then predrill through the screen and screw the screen to the aluminium post with some metal screws and the timber post with some timber screws. I'd suggest you use no less than 4 screws per side of the screen.
