How to paint edge of bathroom tiles?

Question

I have recently repainted my bathroom with British Paints  Clean and Protect Interior Wall Paint - including the edges of the tiles. They have been previously painted. Prior to the repaint the edges were cleaned and lightly sanded. Now I notice the paint is peeling off very easily. Is there something I should haven done to prep the tiles prior to painting? Any suggestions would be most welcome,

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's wonderful to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your painted tile edge.

There are a number of possible reasons for the paint to chip away. Some sections may already have been loose, unpainted surfaces needed to be primed, and some part of the paintwork had cracks in it. Painting tile edging can be a bit tricky, and it needs to be properly primed in order for the paint to adhere well to the surface.

I propose sanding the edge once again and a doing a thorough clean of the tile edge. When you've sanded the edge, wipe away all the sanding dust with a damp clean rag. Make sure the surface is totally dry before you apply a primer. I suggest looking at the Dulux 1L PRECISION White Maximum Strength Adhesion Primer to seal the tile edge. When the primer has totally cured you can then apply your British Paints Clean and Protect Interior Wall Paint.
