Project Description
I could no longer walk past the mixed mess that was all of my power tool chargers and other various home chargers, that looked like a pile of black spaghetti.
I need a simple, organised, tidy place for everything and I needed it fast without a complex building plan. And as usual I had a shoe-string budget to work with. More on that in the steps.
Materials
- 600 x 1197mm sheet of 3ply
- Paint of your choice: got a tin laying around the garage? Tip- drop into your Bunnings store go to the paint shop and checkout their Clearence table. You only need a small tin. 2L max.
- Rags for cleanup.
- 2 long powerboards ( I found 2 on a Clearence table in Lighting n Electrical)
Tools
- Small roller, rollers and tray
- Paint tin opener
- Hand/circular saw
- Sandpaper fine
Step 1
Apply 2 coats of your chosen paint on both sides of the entire board.
Then measure and mark a line at 600mm.
Step 2
Place your cut neatly along your line. ( I used a nikko)
Then use some fine sandpaper to clean up the edges.
Apply paint to cover those fresh edges and seal them.
Step 3
Position your chargers/devices in the best possible way to utilise the space available on your 600 x 600mm board.
I mounted my 2 powerboards then shuffled my gear around until I was happy.
Tip: used twisties or cable ties to keep all your cords neat n tidy.
Step 4
Place your Powerboard Tidy in position.
Ensure all your items are plugged in AND you have spare power point inserts available.
What about the leftover board. Hang onto it! You can mount that OVER your Powerboard Tidy if your needs grow.
