The project:
Due to a tired ensuite, we decided to rip it all out and start a fresh. A modern look, extra storage and tiles-to-ceiling was the focus. Brushed Nickle finish for the hardware is what we wanted.
- Materials:
Selections completed at the Bunnings Selections Studio in Port Melbourne. Everything was through Bunnings (Beaumont tiles, Timberline joinery, Mixx plumbing hardware, etc) except for the shower screen and vanity lights.
- Tools:
Manual tile cutter
laser level (game changer)
Multi tool
Rotary hammer drill (for tile removal and slab adjustments)
tile drill bits (multiple)
all other general tools
- Step 1:
- 1. Isolated power and plumbing
- 2. Dismantled all fixtures
- 3. Removed plaster and floor tiles
- 4. Added extra noggins whilst the walls were open (with a little extra help…)
5. Installed new shower base
6. Villaboard on walls
7. Waterproofing
8. Tiling, grout and caulk
9. Install of all fittings and joinery
10. Deep clean and my wife's finishing touch
