How to take off this bathtub spout?

We are renovating our bathroom for the first time by ourselves and we want to take the tapware off and cap it off while we do the rest of the bathroom. However, we have no idea how to get this one off. There are no obvious signs on how it's removed. Our how was built kinda funky, so I'd appreciate all the help I can get.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your bath spout.

This appears to be a direct screw in spout. I propose wrapping the front of the spout with a tea towel, I then suggest using a Trojan 250mm Pipe Wrench or similar. Your goal is to locate the mouth of the wrench onto the bend of the spout pointing towards the outlet so that you have leverage on it. The tea towel is there to protect the finish of the spout. Make sure to turn the spout anticlockwise to loosen it up. You can spray the back of the spout with WD40 to lubricate it.
