Hello, we have undertaken our first easy craft panel project in a wall in the bedroom. After attaching the panels to the wall with liquid nails, I also used a manual hammer and 2mm nails to secure the board to the wall. I used timber mate wood filler to try and fill the nail head.
I’m now at painting stage and have realised you can see the nail spots below the first coat of paint. I’ve sanded back the nail spots further but they still seem to be visible.
I think the issue is that the nail head is sitting flush with the panel, rather than a hole created. Meaning when I’ve gone to fill the nail head, there really is no hole to fill. However, I’m not sure how I can push the nail in further with a manual hammer?
I have serious regret on not buying a nail gun. Any help would be apprenticed on how I can get this finished so you won’t see the nails after painting. I’m worried I’ve ruined the boards
