Good day, everyone. My garden is rapidly overrun by weeds. Especially after applying Seasol soil wetter. I applied Yates weed killer (not weed and feed - three weeks later applied wetting agent) five weeks ago without any luck. Attached are some of the pics. Looking for advise on how to kill them. I will be getting garden bed in 2-3 weeks time. Would like to fix these by then.
Thanks
Hi @kalyany,
For a stronger approach, you could spray the area with Yates 1L 490g/L Zero Weed Killer Super Concentrate using a pump sprayer. This product is much more potent than general premixed weed killers and should tackle most of the weeds in your garden effectively.
A couple of things to keep in mind: if you’re trying to keep any existing grass or desirable plants, the weed killer will also kill them, so in those areas you might need to hand-weed instead to preserve what you want to keep. Otherwise, for clearing the beds before your new garden planting in 2–3 weeks, this method should give you a clean slate.
Another advantage of Yates Zero is that it is non-residual, so it doesn’t linger in the soil. This means it’s safe to prepare and plant your garden beds in the coming weeks without worrying about leftover chemicals affecting your new plants. Make sure to wear appropriate PPE, such as a facemask, gloves, long sleeves, trousers and eye protection, when handling and spraying the weed killer to stay safe.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
