Creating a dedicated space for your coffee machine is a small project that can make your kitchen more homely, functional, and let you show off your barista skills in style.
Along with your coffee machine of choice, your café corner might also include a grinder, mugs and shelving for items like coffee beans, tea and sugar.

1. Coffee station using Flexi Storage floating shelves by @EleventhCoastal
A high-impact refresh. Oak floating shelves and decorative lining boards painted in Dulux Herbalist make this coffee station a feature of the kitchen. It was the winner of the best small project in our 2024 search for Australia's best D.I.Y. projects.
2. Kitchen coffee station tiled splashback by @diy_hausdesigns
Adding a tiled splashback can make a coffee zone feel like its own mini destination in the kitchen. Community member Rufaro designed a coffee station where the old pantry used to be, then tiled it with bright white subway tiles.
3. Coffee station made from old pallets by @Carol_Prime
Upcycling fans will love this one. Carol recycled old pallets to create a rustic coffee station finished with custom vinyl lettering.
4. Kitchen pantry cabinet makeover by @naz1
Formerly plain cabinetry can be transformed into something with personality. Melamine cabinets were upcycled using embossed wallpaper and plaster paste applied with a textured roller to create a distinctive look for this coffee station.
5. D.I.Y. kitchen splashback behind the coffee station by @homeinmelbourne
A clever alternative to tiles: James Hardie Axon cladding was used to create a vertical panelled-look splashback. The splashback was wrapped around the kitchen including behind the coffee station, and finished with a neat aluminium trim and enamel paint for a durable, wipe-clean finish.
6. Walk-in pantry storage with a built-in coffee station by @Renowayoflife
As part of an award-winning Queenslander kitchen makeover, Claire designed a walk-in pantry with custom shelving and Acacia timber countertops sized to hold small appliances, including space for a coffee station.
7. Laundry-to-butler’s pantry transformation with a coffee nook by @brookoli_
A coffee station you can hide away. This clever renovation turned a laundry into a butler's pantry that houses a fridge and dedicated coffee station, freeing up space in a small kitchen.
8. Coffee nook under a window by @cupofchloe
Not every coffee station needs cabinetry - sometimes a well-placed benchtop is enough. In this full kitchen renovation, Chloe added a custom benchtop under the window with stools to create a sunny coffee nook.
9. Scullery coffee machine zone by @EuroKiwi
This open laundry and scullery has become EuroKiwi’s favourite room of the house. It includes generous bench space, Kaboodle cabinetry, tiled splashback and dedicated coffee zone.
10. D.I.Y. cart with mosaic shelf by @marliemakesit
Marlie’s homemade bar cart made with Pine timber, a Specrite panel and mosaic tiles was styled for cocktails, but could easily be repurposed into a mobile station housing mugs, beans and a coffee machine.
