Are these wasps nests?
Hello @Else
They appear to be mud wasp nests; they are quite common around homes and are usually built by solitary female mud wasps. These wasps collect small amounts of mud or clay and carefully shape it into hard, grey-brown tubes or small pot-like structures. You’ll often find them attached under house eaves, inside garages, or on sheltered walls where the nests are protected from rain.
Mud wasps are generally non-aggressive and tend to keep to themselves, focusing on building their nests and gathering food for their young. Because of this, they rarely bother people and can be considered a helpful part of the local ecosystem. If a nest is in an inconvenient location, it can usually be removed once it is no longer active, but otherwise these wasps are typically harmless neighbours.
