A small section of grout has completely eroded on one of the sides of my shower drain. What would be the best way to fill this gap in? If I can fill it in, how do I match the colour with the existing grout?
Hi @Harry109,
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.
Replacing the eroded grout is definitely doable, and it will start with cleaning out the gap as best as possible. Start by having a look at How To Remove Grout From Tiles for some guidance. If the gap is as narrow as it appears, you may struggle with a grout saw or multitool blade, so something like a utility knife to agitate any material, alongside your vacuum would likely be a better option. Just remember to wear some gloves and long protective clothing to minimise the risk of lacerations when working with sharp tools.
Once the gap has been cleared out as best as possible, you can use one of the Dunlop Ready-To-Go Coloured Grouts to top up the gap. It looks like a dark grey such as Magellan Grey or Charred Ash would be the closest. They have a colour example on the pack, which you can use to compare with the existing grout. It might be worth grabbing both for comparative purposes and returning whichever one you didn't use with your proof of purchase for a refund.
Once the grout has been applied to the gap, use a damp sponge to smooth and tidy up the grout and remove any excess.
Check out How To Grout Tiles for some further guidance on the process.
