How to make an externally boxed cistern on the outside wall?

I have a very small bathroom 2 m long and 1 m wide. To save space I’ve been told that an externally boxed cistern is possible. I’ve spoken to 2 plumbers and they don’t know about it, however. It is a single brick wall and it is old a toilet from the wall but cutting through and system outside is definitely a good option for us. Can anyone help with how this is done? I’d like to just make the Plumber feel comfortable about doing it if they haven’t done it before.

As plumbing is a licenced and regulated industry, we are not able to provide advice on this topic. If it is possible, you would need to find a licenced plumber who is both aware of and capable of installing them to a standard that complies with the relevant standards and regulations.

In saying this, I can't say I have ever heard of an external boxed cistern, nor can I find any evidence of them through researching the topic. It may be possible, but I can't say I am aware of them or how they would need to be installed. If you've been told that it is possible by someone, it might be worth reaching out to them to provide a specific example of one or a methodology of installation for your tradesperson to reference.

There are concealed cisterns, like this Johnson Suisse Econoflush Air In-wall Box Mounted Cistern. This could be what they were referring to. They are designed to be installed within the framing of a home, however in a single brick house, this would not be possible because there is no cavity for them to sit inside.

If space saving is the primary objective, you might like to consider one of these Caroma Profile 5 Deluxe S Trap Toilet Suites which combine the toilet, tap and basin into one unit to save space.
