Hi all,
I am hoping to hang a few pictures on panelled walls and was wondering what kind of hook or anchor would be best to use?
Thanks!
Hello @Mary7
Thank you for sharing your question about hanging art on your wall. I suggest having a look at these two guides - How to hang just about anything by @Adam_W and How to hang a picture by @Tara86. One of the big factors here is the weight of your art and if it is framed. Some of the hooks I'm about to suggest all have weight rating on them and it's therefore important to get the right one that can hold onto your art.
The general steps are to measure your artwork and centre it to the position where you would like to hang them. I suggest doing a test drill into the wall to see what is behind the VJ panel. Once you've determined what's behind the VJ panels you can then use the appropriate screw for the wall.
Here are some suggested picture hanging hooks:
It appears that you have Easy VJ panels, conservatively they are around 9mm thick which makes it a good medium to screw into. The only drawback to this plan is if the wall behind it is masonry or brick. It will be hard to drill into the brick or mortar, and you'll need to make provisions for that. But if it is plasterboard only, you can keep screwing through the plasterboard and into the stud if possible.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
