How to repair metal soap holder?

Question

I have a soap holder that has come apart.

It has two metal parts that appears to have been glued together.

Three photos are attached including one which includes glue.

What glue is required to sticks these two parts back together.

For a soap holder that will be exposed to water, your best option is usually a clear wet-area silicone. Silicone adheres well to a variety of surfaces and has a bit of flexibility, which helps it resist the shear forces that can cause traditional glues to crack or fail.

Before applying the silicone, make sure to clean both metal surfaces thoroughly. Remove any old glue, soap residue, or oils. This will give the silicone the best chance to form a strong, lasting bond.

The alternative would be an epoxy glue, but in this case, it’s less ideal. Epoxies may not bond as reliably to your metal surfaces and aren’t specifically designed for constant exposure to moisture.

Using a good-quality clear silicone, with clean surfaces, should give you a strong, long-lasting repair for your soap holder.
