My kitchen tap’s level has loosened with now way to screw it back tight. I tried applying plumber’s tape to the threads but still no good. Any other quick fixes I should try or is it time to replace the whole tap? Thanks!
Hi @rc12,
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.
Assuming you are referring to the threaded connection at the base of the cylindrical tap handle -
You could try adding a few more layers of thread tape, or even removing the thread tape and winding some copper wire through the thread and then tightening it up. As copper is quite soft, it will compress and help to lock the threads together in a similar way to thread tape, but it is certainly worth a try.
If this does not work, unfortunately, it would mean you'd need to replace the tap.
There are some good options for Kitchen Mixer Taps like the Estilo 35mm Chrome Coil Dual Function Tall Pull Down Sink Mixer or the Mondella Resonance 25mm Chrome Side Lever Dual Aerator Sink Mixer. Have a look and see what you like.
If you need assistance with the install, you can also check out our Tapware & Shower Head Installation Service which can be arranged through your local store's Special Orders desk.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
