The project:
wasn’t enjoying the brown tile at my front door. I looked into painting it and stencil work over the top, I couldn’t find a stencil that fit my tile perfectly so I decided it would be fine to use a smaller stencil.
- Materials:
dulux 3 step concrete and paving system - deep ocean
Filler for any cracks
White knight paving paint - platonic
- Tools:
sand paper
Measuring tape
Pressure washer
Paint roller
Paint tray
- Step 1:
pressure washed the surface three times then used dulux step one to clean the surface
- Step 2:
Step 2 primed the surface with two coats of primer then filled the crack and sanded it back once dry. Coated the filled crack with primer
- Step 3:
applied two coats of dulux concrete and paving paint in the colour deep ocean
- Step 4:
measured the middle of the tile and marked it. Sanded the tile down a bit with sandpaper and cleaned any dust off the tile. Lined the stencil up to the middle and taped it down. Dabbed the smallest amount of paint onto the stencil with a paint brush let it dry and applied another coat with very little paint
- Step 5:
continued until complete! I cut the stencil at the end to do the half tiles along the sides. I plan to touch up by hand and complete a sealing coat over the stencil work because it is a high traffic area
