How to build a small retaining wall?

we are going to replace a small retaining wall with Adbri Masonry sandstone natural impression block , it will only be 200 mm high , do we need to concrete the bottom block in place first ?????, or because the click together just place it on a flat bed of crushed dust????. Very new to this but happy to give it a go

You don’t need to concrete the bottom blocks or create a full concrete foundation for a 200 mm-high Adbri Masonry wall. That said, if the ground isn’t perfectly flat, it can help to pour a thin bed of mortar under the first course. This allows you to gently tap the blocks down into place and achieve a consistent, even height across the wall, making the installation look neater and more professional.
