How to restore a timber garden bench?

Hey all just seeking some advice

I am considering this piece below and have a go at restoring it. I'd like to strip the paint off it and then stain it.

I just wondered what steps you would take to do this and whats the best products to use? First timer here at this so wanted to get the best advice I can.

The general process is fairly straightforward. The timber appliance will need be sanded back to wood. I propose using a combination of a detail sander along with various grades of sandpaper sheets. It is also possible to use https://www.bunnings.com.au/poly-1l-polystrippa-paint-stripper-1l_p1715074 , but this is more involved and will require you to have a dedicated space when you strip the furniture down. You'll need to be careful as the chemical is caustic and you'll need to wear personal protection such as gloves, goggles and a mask. The stripped paint will need to be disposed of properly, make sure to follow the safety instructions at the back of the can.

Once you've sanded the furniture back to timber, I propose giving it a clean by washing it with https://www.bunnings.com.au/cabot-s-1l-deck-clean-1l_p1521451 this will clean the surface of sanding dust along with any oil or grease deposits that may have settled on the surface of the furniture. When it is totally dry you can then choose if you wish to paint it or use a clear sealer. My best advice is to make sure that the paint product you use is designed for outdoor use.
