How to make texture paint?

Question

We have an old full brick house. Outside walls have been painted with Texture Paint. We have repainted the house twice using Dulux WeatherShield paint over it using the colour match.

Recently we have made garden beds using brick wall and would like to paint it with matching Texture paint.

Is it possible to make Texture paint using Dulux WeatherShield  paint by mixing sand etc.

Now this is an interesting question, I have seen peopel head towards wanting to add sand to paint before. As yet no one I know has done it. While writing this out I was kind of considering it but then I thought of the clagging together of paint and sand more than a spread through the paint was the most likely outcome. We know what happems when wet sand is combined but with paint I think it will become a gluggy mess. The second part is if you do manage a mix and paint it on a wall, I wonder how long/how well it will bond to the surface. You could try a test area first with a small amount of paint (not a paint pot sample as its a different paint I think, colouring is right, paint is maybe not so)

I would actually head towards the branded paint suppliers. I had a mate who worked at dulux I think it was, and their knowledge of all paint plus access to the companies help desk may be able to help you out with a paint that matches what you want.

Hello @Anil51

I suggest visiting your local store and having a look at the Dulux sample board for textured paint in the paint department. You should be able to see which texture is closest to the one you currently have on your brick wall. One other suggestion is to use a textured roller to create a textured appearance on the surface of the brick.
